2025

Something big is coming in 2025, but I’m not yet at liberty to say exactly what. I’ll still be writing, speaking, teaching body language and about dangerous personalities. Creating music and singing and homeschooling my son. So many opportunities. So many people to meet and share with. An abundance of moments to love, worship, weep, and rejoice.

But this new thing God is doing… well, let’s just say when the opportunity was presented, I hit my knees in shock. Lord, I can’t do this. I don’t know how. Pick someone else. Anyone else. I sounded just like Moses when God called him to lead His people out of Egypt. Moses offered excuse after excuse, even to the point that he initially refused. “Please send someone else.” (Exodus 4:13) But God, in His kindness, replied, “I will teach you what to do.” And He’s been gently telling me the same.

None of us know what 2025 holds. It could be a year of overwhelming victory for some and devastating tragedy for others. In truth, life is a cycle of hills and valleys and everything in between. Each of us will be given new opportunities, new relationships, and choices. God may even interrupt your plans and set your feet in a new direction. When He does, it’s terrifying.

The great news is we aren’t expected to do it on our own. He teaches us as we go. All He asks for is a trusting and obedient heart. And just like He told Moses, He will be our I AM.

“I AM WHO I AM.” (Exodus 3:14)

In the Bible, Jesus gave us powerful reminders of Who He is. Enough to meet our every need. Enough to save us, to keep us, hold us, teach us, nourish us, and finish what He starts.

“Jesus said to them, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.’” (John 8:58)
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)
“I am the resurrection and the life.” (John 11:25)
“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5)
“I am the light of the world.” (John 8:12)
“I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger…” (John 6:35)
“I am the true vine…” (John 15:1)
“I am the door…” (John 10:9)
“I am the good shepherd.” (John 10:11)
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.” (Revelation 22:13)

My meditation for 2025 is I AM.

He is all we need, all we hope for…He is our everything.

I’ll leave you with the words of one of my favorite songs by Nicole Nordeman—“I AM”.

I Am
by Nichole Nordeman

Pencil marks on a wall
I wasn’t always this tall
You scattered some monsters
From beneath my bed
You watched my team win
You watched my team lose
Watched when my bicycle
Went down again

And when I was weak
Unable to speak
Still I could call You by name
And I said

Elbow Healer, Superhero
Come if You can
You said, I Am

Only sixteen
Life is so mean
What kind of curfew
Is at 10pm?
You saw my mistakes
And watched my heart break
Heard when I swore
I’d never love again

And when I was weak
Unable to speak
Still I could call You by name
And I said

Heartache Healer, Secret Keeper
Be my best friend
And You said, I Am

You saw me wear white
By pale candlelight
I said forever
To what lies ahead
Two kids and a dream
With kids that can scream
Too much it might seem
When it is 2am

And when I am weak
Unable to speak
Still I will call You by name

Oh, Shepherd, Savior, Pasture Maker
Hold onto my hand
You say, I Am

The winds of change and circumstance
Blow in and all around us
So we find a foothold that’s familiar
And bless the moments
That we feel You nearer

When life had begun
I was woven and spun
You let the angels
Dance around the throne
And who can say when
But they’ll dance again
When I am free
And finally headed home

I will be weak
Unable to speak
Still I will call You by name

Creator, Maker, Life Sustainer
Comforter, Healer, my Redeemer
Lord and King, Beginning and the End
I Am
Yes, I Am
